Furious Flower Poetry Prize Reading

In February of this year, Furious Flower launched the first annual Furious Flower Poetry Prize for Emerging Writers for which they received over 100 entries from around the country. Poet and author Marilyn Nelson served as judge, selecting the winning poem and honorable mention. 

Heather Treseler of Newton, MA, whose work has appeared in the Harvard Review, Missouri Review, Southern Poetry Review, Boston Review, and the Los Angeles Review of Books, submitted the winning poem titled "Beaux Arts." 

Keith Wilson of Chicago, IL is an Affrilachian Poet, Cave Canem fellow, and graduate of the Callaloo Creative Writing Workshop, and his poem "53rd Street" was selected as the Honorable Mention.

Come see and hear them read their winning poems along with Marilyn Nelson who will read a selection of her poems at our second Spring Poetry Reading on April 10!
